

Meet Alana owner and therapist
Alana is an expressive arts and somatic trauma therapist currently practicing in Sudbury, Ontario and online. She has a diploma in expressive arts therapy from The CREATE Institute in Toronto, Ontario, an art therapy diploma from the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute and a Master’s degree in expressive arts therapy, with a minor in psychology from The European Graduate School in Sass- Fee, Switzerland.
In addition to the above education, Alana has also completed Level 1 & 2 in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy from the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute and has a certificate in sex therapy from the University of Guelph.
Alana is committed to expanding her range of skills and knowledge in the field of psychotherapy and human relationships.
She has taken a variety of additional training in gender issues within the 2SLGBTQQIA communities, sex therapy, shame and trauma, addiction, grief & bereavement, suicide as well as the arts and Indigenous ways of knowing and being in relation to healing.
Alana is particularly interested in empowerment through different ways of storytelling, through body movement, visual art, writing, voice work, film, photography and music making. She is also concerned with the impacts our socioeconomic and environmental positions have on health.

​Alana has also been a textile artist for the past 25 years working mainly with natural dyes and printing. She has exhibited her work throughout Canada and internationally, has taught textile arts both from her studio and within academic contexts and still maintains her arts practice. Her work is inspired by the Northern Ontario landscape, her heritage as a mixed race person and by the materials themselves.
